OUR MISSION: LOVING JESUS, AND LOVING OTHERS TO JESUS.
Crossroads Church (formerly Lima Baptist Church) has been serving Christ in the Lima NY and surrounding villages since 1854. We are a community church reaching out both locally and to the world with a strong commitment to worldwide missions.
As a church, we endeavor to do this by:
PURSUING A 24/7
CHRISTIANITY
People like to compart-mentalize God, but following Christ is not a Sunday-only event. It’s a daily life that honors God & encompasses everything we do and are.
FOCUSING ON THE
WHOLE FAMILY
Families are busy going in different directions, but we desire whole families to know Jesus and have a place for all to share in the life of the church.
FORMING
RELATIONSHIPS
We tend to be independent, but life was meant to be lived connected with others. It’s a connection modeled on the very life of God who exists in community.
ENGAGING
GLOBALLY
We have been called by God to bring the message of Jesus to all people, next door and across the world.
OUR MISSION & VISION
In Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus described what God considers most important for His people:
“Jesus replied, ‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” (NLT)
The mission of Crossroads Church comes from this passage, known as “The Great Commandment”. Crossroads Church exists to love Jesus, and love others to Jesus.
Our vision is to make a lasting difference by loving God, loving people and learning to live life on purpose. We want those connected to our congregation to be focused on Jesus. Each service, group, ministry or compassion area that we offer is designed to help us move forward on our journey with Him. We do this through our Pre-K-12 Christian school (see www.limachristian.org), summer sports camp, our monthly lunch ministry, prison ministry, ongoing support of the village food pantry, youth group and more.
We want to remain uncomfortable with the status quo, turning ourselves toward an even greater outward focus. The core issues of our time aren’t just economic, social, or political, though these are important; they are also moral and spiritual. Our call is to declare Christ’s hope, forgiveness, and transforming power to a world outside of our walls. We do this together naturally, creatively, and intentionally.
At Crossroads Church, we are a faith community where real people with real problems find hope and joy to take with them into their daily lives.
