Our beliefs represent the foundation of our faith and are our understanding of what the Bible proclaims as the essentials of Christianity. All of our values, behaviors, teachings and way of life flow out of these statements. Beyond this, we embrace St. Augustine’s philosophy, “In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Charity.”
WE BELIEVE… the Bible is God’s true and perfect word to mankind.
WE BELIEVE… God is three persons in one – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – distinct in personality, yet unified in character and purpose.
WE BELIEVE… Jesus is God. He came to earth to live as a man over two thousand years ago. His mother was a virgin when she gave birth to him. He never sinned. He performed miracles. He died on a cross to free us from our sin. He rose from the dead and went to heaven to be with God, the Father, where he continually prays for us.
WE BELIEVE… we are saved from the penalty of our sin because Jesus bled and died on the cross in our place.
WE BELIEVE… the Holy Spirit is God who lives within us and changes us from condemned sinners to rescued people in Christ.
WE BELIEVE… God gives us the power to live in a way that pleases Him, not ourselves.
WE BELIEVE… Jesus is coming back again in a way that all will recognize. He will rule on earth for a thousand years and then forever in heaven.
WE BELIEVE… every person who has ever lived will either be saved by faith in Christ and live forever in heaven with God, or be lost and punished forever in hell without God.
WE BELIEVE… Jesus has given those who believe in him the responsibility of telling others how to become his followers.
